Amit Blecher

Founder of Trade Manager. Writes the guides on this site and runs the backtests behind them.

Amit builds Trade Manager, a tool that turns a trading setup into scanner rules you can read, backtests them against real historical bars, and sends an alert when they fire. The guides here come out of that work: each one is a question he wanted answered, tested on real data with the same engine that runs live.

How the backtests are run

  • Every test replays the strategy bar by bar using the same evaluation code as the live scanner, so a result isn't produced by a separate, friendlier model.
  • A trade opens at the next bar's open and exits exactly at the stated target or stop.
  • The universe is the index as it stands today. Companies removed during the test window are missing, and removals skew toward poor performers, so real results would likely be worse.
  • No slippage or commissions are modelled. That also flatters the result.
  • Every test is published whether it made money or not. Three of the four strategies tested across all 503 S&P 500 stocks so far lost money, and those pages are up with the rest.

What this isn't

Nothing on this site is financial advice, and Amit is not a licensed financial adviser. Trade Manager does not place trades or manage money. A backtest describes what a set of rules did on past data; it is not a prediction.
